SMOE Additional Documents

EPIK/SMOE Additional Documents are documents required to either be eligible for a certain benefit or agree to additional terms. Please ask your recruiter for more information about any of the following documents if you believe you qualify.

For those with tattoos or piercings (besides earrings), you must fill out a form to agree to cover your tattoos at all times at school and to not wear any piercings besides earrings for girls.

For those that are married and applying with your spouse, you will need to submit a photocopy of your marriage certificate to secure the joint applicant benefit.

If you have not graduated yet, you must submit a letter from your college’s admissions office that outlines your expected graduation date.

If you were previously a full-time teacher for one year or more, you can be bumped up on the EPIK payscale after submitting proof of your experience.

For those that are currently enrolled in a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA course but that have not yet finished at the time of the documents submission must submit a letter of Enrollment as proof of your enrollment.

Those that are currently enrolled in a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA course but that have not yet finished at the time of the documents submission must also submit a declaration form with their documents swearing that they will finish the course before they arrive in Korea.

For those that are licensed teachers, please submit a photocopy of your Teaching License.

If you have completed a Master’s degree in Education, please include with your documents an apostilled photocopy of your MA diploma to be placed in a higher salary level.
