SMOE 2024 Salary Levels & Requirements

The following information is the official EPIK salary information updated for 2024. Please use the following list to find your eligible salary level bracket. Salary levels range from location to location in the EPIK program. However, for your bracket, please refer to the following information. Your recruiter will be able to tell you your official salary level after finding out which city/province you’ve been placed in.

Salary Level H || 2.02M

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

Salary Level G || 2.1M

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with one or more of the following:

  • valid primary or secondary education teacher’s certification/license

  • education major, English, English literature major, linguistics major

  • a TESOL/TEFL certificate comprised of a minimum of 100 course hours

  • 1 year of teaching English at a public institution or international school

  • Master’s degree (any)

Salary Level F || 2.2M

Requirements

One of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in Education

  • A teacher’s certification/license (with a specialization in English Education)

Or one of the following:

  • Level G qualified + one (1) year or more of full-time English teaching experience

  • Employed at Level G in the SMOE program for one (1) full year

Salary Level E || 2.3M

Requirements

One of the following:

  • A Master’s Degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education

  • Master’s degree in education with one (1) or more years of teaching experience

  • Level G qualified + two (2) years or more of full-time English teaching experience

  • Employed at Level F in the SMOE program for one (1) full year

Salary Level D || 2.4M

Requirements

One of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English education + three (3) years or more of full-time English teaching experience

  • A Master’s degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education + one (1) year of teaching experience at a public institution

  • A teacher’s certification/license (with a specialization in English Education) + two (2) full years of teaching experience

  • Employed at Level E in the SMOE program for one (1) full year

Salary Level C || 2.5M

Requirements

One of the following:

  • Master’s degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education + two (2) years or more of teaching experience at a public institution

  • A teacher’s certification/license (with a specialization in English Education) + three (3) full years of English teaching experience

  • Employed at Level D in the SMOE program for one (1) full year

Salary Level B || 2.6M

Requirements

Three years or more of English teaching experience at a public institution with one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education

  • A recommendation from the local superintendent or school principal

  • Employed at Level C in the SMOE program for one (1) full year

Salary Level A || 2.7M

Requirements

One of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education + four (4) years or more of full-time English teaching experience at a public institution + a recommendation from the local superintendent or school principal

  • Employed at Level B in the SMOE program for one (1) full year

Salary Level S || 3.0M

Requirements

Seven years or more of English teaching experience at a *public institution with one or more of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education

  • A recommendation by the local superintendent or school principal from your country

  • Be hired to work as a curriculum developer with a Doctorial degree in TEFL/TESOL or in English Education
